Safety Considerations
Safety forms the bedrock of my repair philosophy. I fully comprehend the potential hazards associated with household appliances and offer safety checks of your appliances upon request to prioritize your well-being:
- Lint Buildup Prevention: Dryer lint accumulation poses a severe fire risk. Regular maintenance is essential to prevent this hazard. During dryer repairs, I address immediate issues and meticulously clean lint traps and the internals of the appliance, significantly reducing the risk of fire. I do not perform maintenance on the ducting internal to your home and highly recommend using only a company specifically insured for that.
- Gas Leak Safety: Gas leaks from stoves are a significant concern. I prioritize safety by examining gas connections and components during stove repairs to prevent hazardous gas leaks, ensuring a secure cooking environment.
- Water Damage Mitigation: Avoiding water damage is crucial for washing machines and dishwashers. I proactively inspect hoses, valves, and seals during repair work to prevent potential flooding and costly water damage.
- Food Safety Assurance: Stoves and refrigerators are vital for food safety. I focus on thorough repairs to ensure your cooking appliances and refrigerators meet the highest food safety standards, giving you confidence in your culinary endeavors.
My Commitment to Fair Pricing
Transparency, fairness, and affordability underscore my pricing philosophy. I understand the value of clear, upfront pricing without hidden fees or unwelcome surprises:
- Transparent Rates: I bill labor and parts. I will discuss and quote or estimate any expense beforehand, so you will know what you are facing before you commit.
- Hidden Fee-Free Services: You won't encounter any unexpected expenses. I firmly believe in transparent pricing, ensuring that you are fully aware of the cost from the outset.
- Direct Communication: When you contact me, you communicate directly with me, not a call center or secretary.
- Diagnose and repair in one visit: $150 plus parts
- Separate diagnosis call: $100 when the appliance is accessible and ready for testing
- Repair call after a separate diagnosis: $150 per hour, 1-hour minimum, plus parts
- $25 off the final invoice for active military, law enforcement, fire department and EMS personnel
Parts are billed in addition to labor and are discussed with you before they are ordered. See all prices and policies.
What I do and don't do: I perform no service that requires any alteration to your home. My repair starts and stops at the appliance. Plumbing, electrical, gas lines and valves, carpentry and ducting at the service location are not services I provide.
